CHAPTER XIV. TRAFFICCHAPTER XIV. TRAFFIC\ARTICLE 3. PARKING REGULATIONS

(a)      The city administrator or his or her designee is authorized and directed to designate no-parking zones, restricted parking zones, and police car parking zones consistent with the public interest, convenience and necessity upon the streets and alleys of the city.

(b)     The city administrator or his or her designee is further authorized and directed to establish and designate the restrictions by time or otherwise to be placed upon restricted parking zones where the same is deemed to be in the public interest.

(c)      The city administrator or his or her designee shall appropriately post or cause to be posted by official signs the no-parking zones and restricted parking zones.

(d)     The time limit or other restriction placed upon any parking area shall become effective when the time limit or other restriction on parking is designated by an official sign or signs erected upon the street or alley affected.

It is unlawful, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, in obedience to traffic regulations or the directions of a traffic control device or a police officer, or when actively engaged in the loading or unloading of merchandise or goods, for any person to park a truck with a manufacturer’s rated gross vehicle weight of 16,000 pounds or greater, or a bus, tractor trailer, trailer or semi-trailer, as defined in the version of the Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Goddard, Kansas at the time of occurrence, on any street in a residential, commercial, or industrial district within the corporate limits of the City of Goddard, Kansas for longer than two (2) hours.

It is unlawful, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in obedience to traffic regulations or directions of a traffic control device or police officer, for any person or operator of a motor vehicle to stop such vehicle for the purpose of loading and unloading school children at any school where such children are going to or returning from school, except upon the side of the Street where the school is located.
