CHAPTER XIV. TRAFFICCHAPTER XIV. TRAFFIC\ARTICLE 2. TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AND MARKINGS

The Governing Body may, by resolution, establish and fix the location of such traffic control devices as may be deemed necessary to guide and warn traffic under the provisions of this chapter, other traffic ordinances and the state laws. The city shall place and maintain such traffic control signs, signals and devices when and as may be required by the authority of the Governing Body to make effective the provisions of this chapter and other ordinances for the regulation of traffic. Any official traffic control device placed pursuant to this section shall be marked and labeled on a map of the City of Goddard for the purpose of displaying all such traffic control devices and shall be filed with the City Clerk to be open to inspection and available to the public at all reasonable hours of business.

When stop sign(s) are erected and maintained giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at the following intersection before entering any portion of the following street/avenue:

Fourth Avenue - When entering from Cedar Street.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 19 of the current edition of the “Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities” adopted and in effect within the corporate limits of the City of Goddard, Kansas, the placement of a crosswalk is hereby approved and the Goddard Chief of Police is hereby authorized to designate and maintain a crosswalk across 183rd Street West with a legal description as follows:

              Part of the SW¼ of Sec. 28, Twp. 27-S, R-2-W of the 6th P.M., Sedgwick County, Kansas and part of the SE¼ of Sec. 29, Twp. 27-S, R-2-W of the 6th P.M., Sedgwick County, Kansas, described as beginning at a point on the west line of the SW¼ of said Sec. 28, said point being 1,482.82 feet south of the N.W. Corner said SW¼; thence east, perpendicular to the west line of said SW¼, 50 feet to the east right-of-line of 183rd Street West; thence south, parallel with the west line of said SW¼, 10 feet; thence west perpendicular to the west line of said SW¼, 110 feet to a point 60 feet west of the east line of the SE¼ of said Sec. 29, being the west right-of-way line of said 183rd Street West;  thence north, parallel with the east line of said SE¼, 10 feet; thence east, perpendicular to the east line of said SE¼, 60 feet to the point of beginning.
